| | Ran to Sunnyside, 1 loop, 2nd drinking fountain of Shryners, back down to Sunnyside, and Back home. I ran with Garek and Bates most of the way, but I fell off at the end of both ways. My knee and back still gave me a little trouble, but not that bad. Good day, need to hit 50 miles this week.

| | Ran to Sunnyside, Big VA loop with two laps in the cemetery, ran back up to Sunnyside, then me, Bates and Joey did a weird loop around the VA, down to Gaurdsman, then took Gaurdsman back to the park. That got me to 7.79, so we ran up to the second drinking fountain and back, then I ran home. No problems, just fatigued and ready for the SLURPEE RUN!!
PM - 4.5 with Auden around the neighborhood. Listening to music while running at night is the only way to go

Red/Black Pegasus 30 Miles: 13.00 |

| | Went on a early morning hike up Mt Olympus to see the sun rise. So cool! The trail was really really steep coming up, so my Quads, Hammys, Calves, and Glutes were on fire! Hiking down was really hard because most of the last mile was bouldering, but we ran like 2-3 miles back down. I was super sore at soccer practice, but we did have to do the mile.

| | AM Ran to Sugar House and did 4 hills. Ran back. Like 5.96
PM After school, it was raining so we tried to wait out the rain, but it only drizzled out. So instead of going to Sugar House and doing 1000's we went to Liberty and did 800's. First strides, and I got really really muddy. I was supposed to hit a 2:40 for all 6 800's. My times were: 2:47 2:37 2:34 2:36 2:36 2:41. So I felt pretty good. On the way back, we went around the outside of Liberty again, and the side of my knee started to give me a problem, but I didn't worry about it too much. Finished at the track by getting to 11.

Grey/Green New Bal Miles: 17.00 |

| | AM - Big VA loop, came back did strides, progressive 3's (2 of them) then a grass lap. First day (and first run) with my new trainers. Shins are still bad.
PM - Ran to Sugarhouse, ran the 1000 course so we could know what it is. Its a section of the state course, nearer to the end. So we did 4 1000's with a hill repeat inbetween. my times were 3:43 3:38 3:34 3:39. Kinda felt sluggish. Ran back to the track and ended up with 10. Good run! But my shins were still on fire.
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 15.00 |
| | PM - Just went on a run, we did Legacy Bridge run. I ran with Bates and holy crap it was hot. the softer trail up by where we turned around (at the gate) felt good on my shins. When we got back to the track me and Bates just added to 8
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 8.00 |
| | Rail Trail pt.2. We started as a tight pack, but then almost instantaniously, my shins started to KILL. Bill and co. sped to like a sub. 7:30 pace, so me and Bates fell back. I didn't want to ruin my shins even more, so we stayed conservative. At the 6 mi stop, we stopped and went the bathroom. I took a second to massage my calves and shins, but then we started again. We averaged right around 8:40 pace. It was good and very consistent the whole run. Im doing everything right, but why are my shin splints still so bad?
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 15.00 |
| | AM - From my house to 21st E 17th S and back, then just added to three. It was awesome because I had time to go back to sleep because of the late start. Even though I had a piano lesson.
PM - It was our speed day. Ran to Sunnyside, did a lap, ran back down, grass lap, speed changes. The speed workout was: mile, 400 recovery, 400, 400, 800 recovery. We did two of those. I was really scared starting because my shins hurt particularly bad during the speed changes which is why I fell off. My times were: miles: 5:29 5:33. 400's: 75 83 77 78. Small VA loop with Bates to get to 10. My shins were awful inbetween the second 4 and the second mile. But Bill motivated me by telling me that this is the time you get mental toughness. Felt good after!

| | 6 in the morning. After school I went to the hospital to find out what was wrong with my shins, and the physician examined both shins. A little splint on and off in my R leg thats tender in specific spots. My L leg was specifically painful in and around my knee cap. He wants an MRI on thursday

Region VI Championship (3 Miles) 00:17:20, Place overall: 12 | | REGION VI CHAMPIONSHIPS. 2 mile warm up, then around a half mile of strides before the race. I was feeling as good as I had ever felt while running. I did EVERYTHING right. PR'd by 26 seconds, and took 3rd overall for east and 12th overall in the Varsity race! My final time was 17:20. 1 mile cool down. Then I did two miles by myself late at night.

Grey Victory XC Spikes Miles: 3.00 | Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 5.00 |

| | Me and Bates both couldn't make the team run on Jeremy Ranch road so we decided to just go on a run with each other earlier. We did Shryners with a variation at the end. When we got back to Sunnyside we added to 8. little side ache because I ate too much food before I ran, but other than that, no problems.
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 8.00 |
| | 3 in the morning after I had my piano lesson.
There wasn't an email for the team, and I forgot to bring my xc stuff to school, so I just decided to go on a run on my own. I talked to other guys on the team and no one seemed to have their stuff.......? So I just went on the first nine miler I could think of. From my house, up to the zoo, passed Mike's tennis, and took Wasatch all the way to "T-HUNDERBIRD DRIVE", got a drinking at the drinking fountain by the flag pole, ran down to sugar house, then back to my house. Ran right around a 6:55 pace average, which I was stoked about!! Feelin' good, Runnin' good, Smilin' big. So excited for Wednesday when I leave to Hawai'i and get to train with the big bro!
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 12.00 |
| | three before school. To 21st east and 17th south and back.
10 after school with Garek. We were like a 6:54 average, so it went by fast. Last two miles I felt really sore in my Right Glutes and IT.
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 13.00 |
| | Mile warm-up, Mile Speed Changes, shake out lap. I needed to hit 5:55 pace for the whole speed workout, and add 85 seconds on the 2, and drop 90 seconds for the other intervals, after the mile. Our workout was, 2000, 1600, 1200, 2x800. My times were: 2000: 7:22 1600: 5:54 1200: 4:21 800's: 2:50 and 2:39. Felt really consistent throughout. I was a little gased in the mile by the third lap, so I didn't really kick at all, but I still was faster than the pace.
| | Ran from home to the track, 2 miles of speed changes, ran back home. Pre Race
Blue Pegasus 30 Miles: 5.00 |
| | 2 mile warm up, race (5K), 2 mile cool down. Eh, my race was ok. Didn't get into position quick enough so I was consistently going through little surges for the first two miles to get into position. By the end, I was out of gas and got passed.
